About this installation
Our customer in Standish contacted us to arrange the annual service on their Brooks stairlift. This stairlift is over 8 years old, but due to the customer maintaining a regular servicing interval it is still running like new. Regular servicing is the best way to keep a stairlift running safely and reliably — and to catch any wear before it becomes a problem.
Our engineer began by removing the carriage from the rail to carry out a full inspection of the underside of the carriage. The Over Speed Governor (OSG) was checked and tested, the rail rollers, pinion wheel and all microswitch sensors were examined, and the entire underside of the carriage was cleaned and lubricated where necessary.
With the carriage off, the full length of rail was cleaned and the rack (gear track) was thoroughly cleaned and re-lubricated. The engineer then tested the charge rate, battery performance under load, and all safety sensor edges before refitting the carriage and carrying out a final run test to confirm safe and proper operation.
